If you're looking for an emulation that's as faithful as possible to the actual console, then Plugin Alliance, UAD, or even IK, is probably the way to go (although no plugin has yet been able to replicate an analog console thoroughly). ![]() It all depends on what you use for a measuring stick. Of course, they're a whole lot more expensive than $29, but if money is no object, these are one of the finest SSL emulations currently on the market. Plugin Alliance just released their reworked bx_console SSL 4000 emulations, and they are outstanding. But I'll throw a small fly in the ointment. The $29 sale price is a good deal, especially when you use the YNY23 code to knock it down to $26. While the Waves is based on the highly regarded SSL 4000. on the legendary SSL 4000 mixing consoles: SSL E-Channel, G-Channel. Besides not imparting any tonal coloration or saturation, Reason's mixer is modelled after the more modern SSL 9000 console, I believe.
